That certification is only granted to clinics who meet high standards besides those defined by of the international quality standard ISO 9001.
That certification means that auditors of TÜV Süd will check the processes, results and structures of the clinic for a day, to verify whether all required criteria are met. The audit covers the recent technological equipment and procedures of organization as well as the qualification and experience of the doctors and other staff members. Requirements for hygiene are examined, as well as the treatment results and the satisfaction of patients. Surgeons for example are required to have personally carried out at least 1.000 surgeries during the last 5 years, to make sure that they have a high level of personal experience with surgical procedures.
